Ghost Towns, Clarkdale, Arizona

United Verde Copper Tank
We hiked over a half mile through rock, cactus and thorny trees to an abandoned water tank that was used for processing copper and ore in 1918. There were a few concrete and wood structures that were destroyed over years of neglect. This location on the hillside was definitely creepy with an odd feeling like something was watching us.

While walking back to my truck we came across a few deer and a bobcat sitting watching its prey. Luckily the cat was spooked by our noise and left. It sat to our left about 30 yards. This is the first time coming across an animal that could have caused more harm in the wrong situation. Needless to say I will defiantly bring a weapon when exploring remote locations such as this and not get to comfortable with the surroundings.
