Abandoned Places, Sacaton, Arizona

Sacaton Bee House
We decided to stop at this abandoned house in the farm fields near the Gila River Japanese Relocation Center. We noticed a few bees cruising around but nothing to be concerned about. There was a small bee hive in the front room so we decided to go around back when we spotted the Mother Lode. This bee hive was the biggest I have ever seen.

The hanging beehive was at least 3 feet in height and 3-4 feet in width. There had to be tens of thousands of bees on the 5-6 visible combs. Pretty impressive to say the least.

Caution: There could be over a hundred thousand bees at this location. Explorer beware!
