Indian Ruins, Tijeras, New Mexico

Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site
We stopped by this archaeological site on our way to the Quarai Ruins and found the site to be empty of any visible ruins. The history inside was neat, but after walking the short trail in 100+ temperatures, I was a little disappointed.

Location Description:
Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site preserves the ruins of a community that existed some 700 years ago, documenting the lifestyles enjoyed by the few hundred occupants. An interpretive center has a range of educational exhibits and artifacts related to this way of life, including tools used in farming, pottery fragments and traditional clothing. The site is beside the ranger station in Tijeras, less than 20 miles east of the city off I-40.
